One of the unexpected gifts of unschooling is getting to witness our children live without the layers of fear, pressure, and self-doubt that many of us grew up with.
One of the benefits I’ve noticed by living a life without school is the confidence that has been built within my children. They make choices that align with their internal values, allow their curiosities to drive them towards learning and they are willing to try hard things when they see value in it.
Homeschooling and having boundaries are important for the parent-child relationship and the parent’s sanity. Here are my suggestions for maintaining a peaceful parenting approach by holding boundaries while homeschooling.
When we homeschool by tuning into our children’s natural curiosities it allows for a lot more flexibility and fun in our days. We don’t have to abide by any strict schedule but make sure to find time to work on projects or activities that we are interested in!
Since we see all of life’s experiences as learning, having a baby and now toddler has been a focus in our learning for a while now.
Parenting is a fast track to becoming our best selves. If we allow ourselves to evolve through the experiences to grow that are being offered to us daily.
Here are my tips for how to lean into being a graceful leader:
Do you struggle to get your children off of a device after they have had a significant amount of screen time? How about trying to get your children to part with a dear friend? Or leave the playground? Or even leave the house?
Homeschooling can be a wonderful experience when we use connection and collaboration to make learning fun.
